Hoyer: We May Turn Capitol Hill Into A Slaughter House
House Majority Leader Steny Hoyer, D-Md., told reporters Tuesday that House Democratic leaders expect to pass the Senate health care bill later this week, but he conceded that “the votes are close” and that they would lose several Democrats.
Hoyer also spoke at length about using the so-called “Slaughter solution,” a parliamentary maneuver to declare the bill passed without having members actually vote on it.
